Honest comparison

Webflow or a managed restaurant website: do you need a tool or a team?

Webflow is a serious visual development platform, and a restaurant site built in it by a competent designer can be fast, well structured and genuinely custom. The honest comparison is not Webflow versus us, it is Webflow plus somebody versus us, because Webflow is a tool for people who build websites for a living. If you have that person on retainer and they enjoy the work, you are in good shape. If the plan is to learn it yourself between shifts, the tool is not the problem you are solving.

The short version

A professional tool. You still need the professional, and then the monthly work.

  • Our launch time7 days
  • Our page speed90+ guaranteed
  • Our changes5 a month, any size
  • Our build fee$647, after launch

What Webflow genuinely does well

Clean output, real control over layout and responsive behaviour, a content system that can drive menu items or locations from structured data instead of copied blocks, and hosting built in. A designer who knows it can build something that looks bespoke and performs properly. None of that is in question here.

The learning curve is the point

Webflow rewards people who understand layout, breakpoints and content structure, because it exposes them. That is exactly why it is powerful, and exactly why an owner who cooks for a living will find it a poor use of the hours they have. Most restaurant Webflow sites we see were built by a freelancer, handed over, and then frozen: technically excellent, three menu prices out of date.

Build once versus maintained monthly

A Webflow project is typically bought as a build: a fee, a launch, and then whatever arrangement you make for changes. Our plans are the other shape: a monthly fee that includes the build, the hosting, the revisions, the weekly articles and the technical checks. Neither is better in the abstract. The question is whether your site needs maintaining, and for a kitchen whose prices, specials, hours and delivery zones move, it does.

Where an order-driven site needs more than layout

Beyond design, a takeaway site needs an ordering flow on its own domain, a delivery zone checked before checkout, a page per location, a catering path with its own lead time, articles that keep publishing, and structured data that stays true. Webflow can host all of that. Somebody still has to decide it, build it and keep doing it, which is the part our plans are actually selling.

Side by side

Webflow compared with a managed site from us

Twelve things a takeaway, delivery or fast casual kitchen actually feels. Where a row describes another product, it describes how it generally works rather than claiming a limitation we cannot verify.

When Webflow is the better choice

  • You have an in-house designer or a retained studio who already works in it.
  • You want an unusually art-directed brand site and have the budget for a bespoke build.
  • Your marketing team wants to control layout themselves without waiting for anyone.
  • You are a group with a design system to apply across many sites.

If two or three of these describe you, stay where you are. We would rather say so than sell you a plan you will cancel.

When a managed site from us wins

  • You do not want to own a tool or manage a freelancer.
  • The site needs monthly work: prices, specials, hours, locations, articles.
  • You want speed and search work guaranteed by contract rather than hoped for.
  • You want the ordering, the content and the AI answers to come from one accountable supplier.
  • Hourly billing for a menu change is exactly what you are trying to escape.

Switching, or running both

If you already have a Webflow site you like

Keep it until the new one is approved. We build alongside, take the content worth keeping, redirect old addresses and point the domain only at the end. If your designer built something you are proud of, bring their work in as the brand direction, colours, type, tone, photography, so the site your regulars recognise does not suddenly become a different business. The change customers should notice is the speed and the ordering, not the identity.

From a kitchen that moved

What the change looked like for one operator

  • Every online order used to need a call back to ask about sauce. The sauce and heat choices are part of checkout now, so the basket that comes through is the basket the customer wanted.

Questions about Webflow and a managed site

Is Webflow better than custom code?

For a designer who lives in it, it is an excellent way to build. For a restaurant owner, the comparison that matters is who maintains the result, because both approaches produce a site and only one of them comes with a team.

Can you work on our existing Webflow site?

No. We build and host the sites we manage, which is what lets us guarantee speed and fix issues at our cost.

Our freelancer built it in Webflow and has gone quiet. What now?

That is the most common reason people arrive here. We rebuild what is worth keeping, redirect the old addresses, and from then on changes go through a portal with a stated turnaround instead of a phone number that stops answering.

Will we own the new site?

You own your domain and your content throughout, and on cancellation we provide an export of your content and articles within 14 days. The design and code we build stay ours, which is how the monthly price is possible.

Can you match the design we already have?

We build around your brand rather than copying a layout. In practice most clients want the same identity with a structure built for ordering.

How fast is the site compared to a good Webflow build?

We guarantee 90+ PageSpeed on mobile and desktop and fix any page that falls below it at our cost. A good Webflow build can reach similar numbers; the difference is the guarantee and who maintains it.

Do you offer a one-off build without the monthly plan?

No. The monthly plan is the product: build, hosting, domain, revisions, articles and the AI Engine on the plans that include it. A one-off build with no maintenance is the thing this offer exists to replace.

What if we grow into needing something custom?

Tell us. Larger scopes are quoted as part of a plan or discussed before the work starts, never billed by the hour after the fact.
